those manufacturing company who recorded his name as glorious history .this
article is about most prominent car brand of the early Indian automotive days Hindustan
Motors .with his became an Indian icon Hindustan motors cemented his legacy
with just two models the famous Ambassador and Contessa.
Hindustan motors was
the largest Indian automotive manufacturer before the rice of Maruti Udyog. Now
a days Hindustan motors has become completely out slit but his still our favorite.
Hindustan motors was started in 1942 by a B.M Birla of Birla family in
partnership with Morris motors. Morris motors was already selling cars in India
Hindustan motors we initial just a assembly
plan for a Morris motors which was near Gujarat soon a 1948 the operation was
shifted to utter pure in west Bengal form this first car were roar out from the Hindustan brand . Such
as Hindustan 10, Hindustan 40 and Hindustan land master all this model are
derivative of models of Morris motors.
This should not come at surprise as we will learn that
Hindustan Motors nearly produces cars for the international car brand or the
produces the models under a own brand name the most prominent that was born in partnership
of or Morris motors was the Hindustan ambassador
or as some enthusiast call it as a Amby . Which was Hindustan Motors branded
version of the Morris oxford series III. it was run on Indian on Indian roads
from 1958 of until 2014 even thou surprisingly not much have change in five and

in 1959 Hindustan tractors was formed initially host an import a tractor but in this 4 years started manufacturing with own by the partnership with tetor tractor of Czechoslovakian the course of events Hindustan brand was sold to Gujarat got to form Gujarat tractors by 2001 Gujarat tractors was sold to Mahindra . In 1980 it formed a partnership with general motors of use so we can sell this varies of his cars in Indian market. Such as best ford, opal, Vauxhall.
However this partnership with general motors ended in1999. Hindustan contessa was the car born from the partnership with Wexham. Contessa was a large family car on the premium side for those days. The enthusiast muscle car of India it was based in Wexham VX series. HM also partner with the caterpillar (CAT) to make heavy equipment in 1984 and also made a plant near Chennai. But in 2000 sold the complete devotion to caterpillar.
Hindustan motor also make partnership with two Japanese
company Isuzu and Mitsubishi the partnership
eighth Isuzu became In the year 1982 tough produce trucks this trucks is very modern for
the time and was a tough rival to Tata and Ashok Leland in terms of technology
and potential market capture. They was other benefits that came as result of
the partnership.
Two car prime models of HM ambassador and contessa got evict
Isuzu technical assistance to order to make new engine a d transition comfy to
HM. Isuzu helped in designing the 5 speed manual transition compiled to the inline
4 cylinder on an eight liter petrol engine. This configuration was use on
contessa after wile 2 liter diesel engine also made this was use in contessa as
were as high end ambassadors. A turbo version of 2.l diesel engine also made
introduction of this Isuzu engine ambassador and contessa made this cars better
and enthusiast the weight. In 1998 HM partner of Mitsubishi this partnership of
just means of Mitsubishi to enter in India. The factory was set up In
Thiruvananthapuram Tamilnadu to manufacture the Mitsubishi cars. The firs car
to be produce was Mitsubishi paper Mitsubishi and Isuzu remain the only two partnership
then Hindustan motor has maintain all these wile. And this is the only thing he
kept good in HM occupied .no RND work happened at any of these facility of HM.
Only manufacturing of models design by the respective companies takes place.

HM started of like any other Indian automotive
company such as Maruti, hero or TVS by importing and manufacturing the vehicle
for the international brands it seems to become very comfortable with it unlike
other automotive companies of that time. HM never persuaded to transform in the
Indian auto developer not it done any other changes to his product to disliked consumers
desire to buy either same old machine and consumers turned toward a definite
and far better options HM collapse and coldest recovered even after trying to
make its products better it comes to show such a famous and consumed devour
company can die when it stopped innovative.
I am not trying to take any credit away from the Hand the
sort of remarkable pact it made just two models who enthusiast can n be found
all over India and I am defiantly one of them all I am saying is just that any
company with most potential to excel and contriving his huge consumer range it
was HM may be this monopoly days then complacent they stopped innovative much
like ford with its model T which was unchanged until 23 years. be four ford
stands to noticing declining it sells due to better cars in the market that can
modern in turning to and that the ford make the necessary changes . . Next time we will talk about Maruti Suzuki.
